Brett leads the strategic direction for TubeMogul. Under his leadership TubeMogul has grown revenues over 300% annually since inception and attracted world class board members, investors and employees. He is a serial entrepreneur and has created shareholder and customer value through multiple companies. In the late 90’s, Brett started an ecommerce company called YouCanSave.com which he built to $70 million in revenue and sold to HIG Capital. In 2001, the company was honored with the San Francisco Times Hot Technology Award and as one of the Top 10 Fastest Growing Ecommerce Companies in the World by NextCard. Brett also founded Mariner Marketing - a digital marketing agency that became the digital agency of record for several brands including Church & Dwight and Orange Glo International. Additionally, Brett spent three years as a technology consultant at Accenture leading system implementations for Fortune 100 clients including Adecco, Republic Industries and Caesar’s World International. Brett is a recognized thought leader in the digital video advertising industry and speaks regularly at conferences including OMMA, AdTech and StreamingMedia. Brett received his MBA from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. It was at UC Berkeley that he and John Hughes started TubeMogul and won the Berkeley Business Plan Competition in 2007. Brett is married and has three beautiful children.
John is the technical lead and product visionary for TubeMogul. While at Haas with Brett, John envisioned and created the online video promotion platform that eventually became OneLoad.com, a service with over 300,000 users. John is also responsible for architecting and building the world's first video demand-side platform (DSP), TubeMogul PlayTime. At last count, the application scans over four billion ad opportunities per day and selects only the most relevant brand impressions. The PlayTime platform is widely regarded as a gold standard for video DSPs. John holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and a BS from Penn State University. Prior to TubeMogul, John held product management positions at Adobe Systems and Gateway Inc. Offline John is an avid woodworker and gardener. When he isn't building technology for TubeMogul, you can find him in his back yard building tree-houses and zip-lines with his two rambunctious little boys.
Jason co-founded Illumenix, a first-to-market video analytics startup that measures in-player audience engagement. At Illumenix, Jason grew the business from a concept to a successful product launch and an early leader in the video analytics market. Prior to Illumenix, Jason was an early member of IPTV/Communications startup Calix Networks. At Calix Networks, Jason helped lead the development of multiple successful products, from inception to marketplace. Jason has an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and computer science from UC Bekeley.
Adam co-founded Illumenix with a vision for providing detailed insight into online video, of which the future was clear: all video delivery will be done using IP and the Internet. Adam's prior experience includes system architecture and engineering management in the development of network equipment and infrastructure, at both Calix Networks and Ciena Systems. Prior to that, he was a systems integration lead for the Canadian robotic arm that was used to build the International Space Station. Adam has a degree in Computer Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada, and hails from Toronto, eh!
Mike is a hands on technical leader with a proven track record in the design and implementation of large scale distributed systems. He has been a key decision maker driving in-player analytics architecture since the product's inception at Illumenix and brings a wealth of experience from his former professional endeavors. As chief architect at Epylon he led the design of a real-time e-commerce financial integration platform used by Accenture in state government deployments integrating hundreds of systems that process billions of dollars annually. Prior to Epylon he built a solid foundation in database and related technologies as an Oracle emerging technologies consultant dedicated to Oracle partners and value added resellers of ERP, CRM, and BI solutions. Mike is yet another Canadian here at TubeMogul and holds a degree in Software Engineering with a minor in ice hockey and golf!
Max leads TubeMogul's business development and partnership efforts and plays a key role in developing and introducing new product offerings to the marketplace. Max has an extensive background in media, strategy, finance, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining TubeMogul, he served as Vice President of Business Development and Analytics for PointRoll, a leading provider of rich media advertising solutions. Previously, Max spent seven years with CNET Networks as Vice President of Corporate Development. At CNET, Max led the corporate acquisition team and later was in charge of finance, business development, search marketing and content syndication for the company's largest business unit. Max has also been an entrepreneur and worked as COO of the successful independent television production Building Green. Earlier in his career, Max worked at Broadview International, a boutique technology mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, and as a CPA at KPMG. Max completed his undergraduate studies at UC Santa Barbara and Peking University and attended a semester at the Haas School of Business between technology M&A pursuits.
